Sarah Gitter has been teaching ESL to students in many different settings including adult schools, community centers, and community colleges since 1990. She currently enjoys teaching lively conversation courses at Palo Alto Adult School. Her many years living in Japan and teaching English there have given her an appreciation for the challenges and excitement of living in a new country, and she loves to continually learn more about the world from all her students.
Building on her early career as an electronics technician at Hewlett-Packard, Sarah has combined her love of technology and teaching to become a computer skills instructor. She is a tech mentor to the Adult School staff, helping them bring more technology into our classrooms.
Sarah has a Masters in Education from the University of Colorado, a Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate from the University of California Extension, Santa Cruz, and a California Adult Education Teaching Credential.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys hiking and exploring new places while geocaching, an outdoor high-tech treasure hunting sport.
