Matt earned his Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology from UCLA in 2003. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Golden Gate University, School of Law in 2007.
During law school, Matt worked in the chambers of one of his heroes, Hon. Martin J. Jenkins, now a justice of the California Supreme Court. While serving in that capacity, Matt wrote and edited for his law school’s law review.
In 2008, Matt launched his law firm, Shafae Law, and has focused his practice on estate planning and trust and estate administration. Matt takes great pride in his personable, practical approach to solving legal problems, no matter the size of the estate or complexity of the family dynamics.
Matt returned to law school to earn his Legum Magister (LL.M.) in taxation, with honors, from Golden Gate University, School of Law in 2012.
