We address why Americans think and behave the way they do and the foundation for some of their attitudes and values such as the importance of competition and hard work. Now I can use the concept of self reliance to explain why billionaires and homeless people coexist in San Francisco, and I can understand how Individual freedom allows American women to wear leggings all day long.
