WOODWORKING 2: INTRODUCTION TO HAND TOOLS

This class will introduce woodworkers to the use and maintenance of common hand tools used in fine woodworking. Students will learn how to use layout tools, chisels, saws, and block planes to create an example of traditional joinery. Sharpening of chisels and plane blades will also be covered. In the second half of the semester, you can practice your skills and build a sliding lid tool box.

• Instructor pre-approval will be needed to enroll in the class.
• Students will need to bring their own set of tools
• Expect to invest $250+ prior to the beginning of class
• Required tool list is available from sroy@pausd.org
• There will be a materials fee of $50 payable to the instructor at the first class
