Mitra Bahrami has been an ESL teacher at the Palo Alto Adult School since 2007. She started at the school teaching a writing course which led to the launch of the Writing Academy. She also created new courses, such as English Through Movies and US History and Culture, and revamped the TOEFL prep course, currently one of the few being offered in the Bay Area.

Mitra started her career in Silicon Valley as a tech writer and trainer and before joining the Palo Alto Adult School was working as a producer for the TV show, Bay Area Backroads (KRON4) in San Francisco. Mitra has a BA in Linguistics and Sociology from University of York, UK, England, and her passion is to learn about other languages and cultures.
