Writing Academy

Write for life! Whether it’s a simple email, a thank-you note, a complex essay or report, our Writing Academy classes will help you with content, organization, tone, and purpose.

The Academy offers three levels of classes, from the basics of sentence creation to paragraph development and essay writing. Students who complete the required assignments can earn Certificates of Achievement and/or Proficiency.

Textbooks:

  • Writing to Communicate Book 1 (for levels I, Section A and Level II)
  • Writing in English—Step by Step (for level I, Section B)
  • Writing to Communicate Book 2 (for level III)
  • Writing to Communicate Book 3 (for Advanced Research Writing)

***Students will provide a writing sample during the first class to determine their level.***

  • ADVANCED RESEARCH WRITING

    Research is searching for answers through reading, interviewing, and writing.

  • FUNDAMENTALS OF WRITING I

    Practice writing sentences and developing coherent paragraphs with the goal of writing about your own life experiences.
