I learned Hiragana in the Beginning Japanese class, and am better now at using Google Translate to translate Japanese texts. After taking this class, I can now read and study Japanese poetry.

The Master Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra instructor does such a good job leading the orchestra. It gives me great satisfaction that I am able to perform Classical music.

In the Photography: Advanced Black/White Darkroom class, I was able to select negatives with good exposures and compositions, and use darkroom techniques to produce great photographs. I was able to print many negatives taken in Japan that I hope I can exhibit at San Francisco Japan Town.

The excellent instructors and assistants in my Woodworking 2 & 3 classes are excited by teaching fellow (aspiring) woodworkers. I learned a lot in both classes.

The Beginning Spanish class was my first class at the Adult School. I signed up to learn Spanish so that I have the skills for my next trip to Colombia. Leo, the instructor is an amazing person.

Mr. McCord’s background includes expertise in many languages, and the Peace Corps. He is by far the BEST language instructor I have ever had! You have a gem at Palo Alto Adult Ed. He knows how to present material. Once the material has been presented, using the model, he asks students questions, around the room. HE GETS THE STUDENTS TO SPEAK. The class is upbeat and fast paced. I enjoy learning not just about Spanish, but about our place in the world, with bits of linguistics and history thrown in. His breadth of experience in different countries makes his presentation of these exercises very useful.
