BOOKBINDING: WABI SABI ART JOURNAL

Enjoy a fun evening finding beauty in imperfection as we create an art journal using a variety of artful techniques. Mixed media paper is transformed using ink, stencils, rubber stamps, and collage. Students are guided through the creation of a journal that includes pages for text and pockets for keepsakes.

Students’ tool kit should include:

• Scissors
• ruler
• pencil
• bone folder
• paper piercing tool
• piercing mat

Artists’ books, hand crafted works of art in unique or small editions, present in a wide variety of sizes, formats and structures. Artists find a repository for other artwork including collage, calligraphy, photography, painting and drawing. Students achieve a sense of satisfaction in accomplishment as they leave with completed books that they can further embellish and use for journaling or gifts.

There is a $15 materials fee payable to the instructor.
