CONVERSATION ABOUT TRUE RADIO SHORT STORIES (**NEW**)

“God Bless America” Dori Samadzai exclaims at the end of her moving story about fleeing the Afghan/Russian war and finding refuge in the U.S. This is just one of many inspiring personal stories that we will read, view, and discuss.

These short (2-3 page) stories are easy to read, to discuss, and to write about, so we will keep reading journals with our reactions to them.

Textbook: All These Wonders: True Stories about Facing the Unknown – Catherine Burns, ed. Crown Press, 2017

These stories were recorded on the Moth Radio Hour, so we will be able to both read and view them. Spanning the world from Africa to Asia and from Europe to the Americas, these personal stories center around the theme of overcoming the challenges that come with sudden changes in life.

This class will focus on speaking, reading/vocabulary and writing skills through viewing, reading, and discussing these Moth Radio Hour stories.
