Give your videos more zing by hearing what others say about them and by looking analytically at what others are doing. We’ll cover the basics of video storytelling. Then you will critique one another’s videos in a supportive environment with guidance from the instructor.
Every video is in some sense a story, whether it’s fiction or documentary or biography, and the video medium gives you a range of tools for telling those stories. We’ll spend a little time talking about those tools and a little time talking about shooting technique, but the bulk of the time in this class will be spent watching one another’s short films and discussing what’s working well and what could be improved. Whatever level your video is, we’ll help you take it up to the next level.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re using professional tools or whatever was lying around the house, we’ll give you things to think about.
Prerequisite: Must bring an almost finished 5 minutes or less video (any subject or story in any style) for class to critique
This course is not offered this quarter.
