MORE INFO

We will build on our foundations from Woodturning 1 and transfer our skills to turning bowls. Emphasis will be placed on developing proper tool technique and control with traditional tools through practice and repetition. We will expand on earlier topics (as well as new ones like tool sharpening) and discuss how a log is processed into bowl blanks and how our design choices affect the grain pattern that appears in a bowl. You will learn how to make the perfect tenon for attaching a bowl safely to a 4-jaw chuck and also mount one using a recess. We will have a lot of fun and make a lot of wood shavings. Please note that you are still responsible for cleaning up any wood shavings at the end of class. Face shields will be provided (you are also welcome to bring your own if you have one) and it is recommended you bring at least an N95 mask for sawdust.
