Learn how to use the lathe to turn beautiful wooden pens! In this class, you will learn the basics of pen turning, how to turn safely at the lathe, and then assemble your pen with metal pen kit components. This is a great starter project to familiarize yourself with the lathe and try using traditional turning tools. There will be a $20 materials fee payable to the instructor at the first class meeting. You will leave the class with 2 fully finished pens, ready for gifting or signing important documents. Face shields will be provided (you are also welcome to bring your own if you have one) and it is recommended you bring at least an N95 mask for sawdust. Limit 6 students.
Prerequisite: None (This class is not a substitution for Woodturning 1 or Woodworking 1)
