Build a bench and delve into the wonderful woodworking world of mortise-and-tenon joinery, template routing, tapers, bevels, and grooves. This contemporary-style bench is approximately 3 feet long, 15” deep, and 18” high—it is gorgeous, functional, and, most importantly, a great opportunity to improve your woodworking skills.

If you’d like to obtain your own wood, you will need the following (assuming 30% waste): 3.5bf of 4/4; 9bf of 6/4; and 9.5bf of 8/4. Please be in touch with the instructor at least a week before class starts if you are thinking of going this route.

This class requires the successful completion of Woodworking 1, building on the skills learned there for the safe use of power-tools in the shop.

There is a $140 materials fee payable to the instructor to cover the cost of cherry wood.

No textbook required.
