I began with classes in the Palo Alto Adult School wood shop for a number of years, before moving to teaching as an assistant for multiple sessions of Wood 2, including power tools, hand tools and pen turning classes. I enjoy working closely with students in small groups to learn to safely use the machines for a particular operation. In my day job, I am an academic cardiologist at Stanford and a clinical professor of medicine and pediatrics, and I apply my experience in teaching, mentoring, and program development to curriculum development for the wood shop.
