Hi, I’m Maya! I grew up in Palo Alto, attending Paly (class of ’88). I worked for 20+ years as a professor of Psychology, Gender Studies, Queer Studies, and Statistics at various universities. I went out on disability in 2021, and I missed teaching so much! So, I’ve been delighted to get my teaching fix via the Palo Alto Adult School. I’ve been sewing since I was 8 years old, and I typically sew a few hours a day. I enjoy sewing all manner of garments and like to challenge myself to learn new sewing skills. Sewing gives me so much joy, I hope that I can help you feel that same joy about your own sewing adventure!
