I began woodworking in my grandfather’s garage workshop as soon as I could pick up a hammer, and it has been a hobby ever since. There is a particular joy in imagining a project and then working with the wood to bring your creation to life. I took formal woodworking classes at the Palo Alto Adult school before moving to assisting and teaching. It is a real joy to see students from all walks of life use a machine for the first time or to successfully complete a project. In the “real world”, I am a biomedical engineer, and I bring my project planning and visualization experiences to the woodshop.
