Sensei Farbod Tabesh has devoted more than 25 years to the practice and teaching of Shito-Ryu Karate. A 4th-Dan black belt, he began his journey at the age of nine, captivated by the power, precision, and spirit of traditional karate. What began as a childhood curiosity soon grew into a lifelong pursuit of mastery — not only of technique, but of character, patience, and balance. Guided by the timeless principle “Karate ni sente nashi” — “There is no first attack in karate” — Sensei Farbod teaches that true strength lies not in aggression, but in restraint, awareness, and respect. Over the years, he has achieved numerous national championships in kata and has showcased his skill and artistry in televised demonstrations, representing the beauty and discipline of traditional karate to a national audience. As a certified Referee A and Coach A, Sensei Farbod upholds the highest standards of fairness, respect, and technical excellence within the karate community. His experience in both competition and instruction allows him to guide students with deep insight into the physical, mental, and ethical aspects of training. Sensei Farbod’s teaching philosophy is rooted in respect, discipline, fitness, mindfulness, and self-defense — but extends far beyond physical practice. He views karate as a lifelong journey toward self-awareness and balance — a path to strengthen both body and spirit while learning to control emotion, temptation, and ego.
