About Us / Our Instructors / Simone Wojtowicz

Simone Wojtowicz

Simone Wojtowicz has enjoyed teaching ESL at the Palo Alto Adult School since 2014. She teaches intermediate to advanced level English Enrichment and Writing Academy classes. She has created new courses such as American Idioms, Current Affairs, US Presidents, and Book Club to meet her students’ needs. In addition, she teaches US History and Culture, Fundamentals of Writing, and TOEFL preparation. She has over 20 years of experience teaching adult ESL at every level from literacy through advanced ESL focusing on listening, speaking, reading, writing, literacy, and cultural awareness. As a first generation American, and someone who has studied several languages, Simone’s goal is to help her students become more confident, effective, and enthusiastic communicators in English. She structures her classes and materials so that students develop and improve in the areas that are most important to them. She appreciates working with second language learners because of their unique needs and interesting perspectives.

Simone is a credentialed teacher and has a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from San Jose State University. She presented The Role of Literacy in Second and Third Language Acquisition at California Association for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (CATESOL) in April 2006.
