Hi folks,

Here is the Peninsula Symphonic Band in their first remote collaboration project, performing The American Red Cross March by Louis Panella to honor all the healthcare workers who have been sacrificing so much of their time taking care of our communities.

We had good turnout of 39 musicians! It was very heart-warming to see all the familiar faces (both past and present) on the screen. A special touch at the end to dedicate this video to our dear friend and long time band member Liz Neumann who passed away during the summer of 2020.

Many thanks to our music director Ted Henderson, not only for his wonderful leadership in music/conducting, but also for his expert skills in technology. Since we are not yet able to meet in person to play music together, he generously offered his time and talents in putting together this video performance to help us connect virtually and stay musically engaged. Definitely a music teacher to the core. THANK YOU TED!!!

The participants in this project definitely enjoyed the experience, and hopefully their appetites have been whetted for more! To those who missed this time around, may this video inspire you to join us for the next one (and yes, we will do more). Have fun and hope to “see” you all again soon.

Ann Miyada (Peninsula Symphonic Band member)
