Learn to draw what your eyes can see! We will use: pencil, pen, watercolor and pastels. This class is for beginners and experienced artists wanting to sharpen their drawing and observation skills.

Still lifes, small objects, photos and more will be our inspiration.

Week 1 Review supply list. Pencil value study.
Week 2-3 Ebony pencil drawing of still life (glass).
Week 4 Pen drawing of textured objects.
Week 5-6 Pen and watercolor landscape painting (from a photo).
Week 7-8 Pastel drawing of pumpkins.
Week 9-10 Pastel drawing of hands.

3 Blk white vinyl eraser
3 BlkE sandpaper wand

3 BlkE 3/8” to 1/2” wide blending stump (optional)

4 BlkE 1 black ink Uniball fine point rollerball pen
2-3 Blk soft pastels: black, gray, white, ocher, burnt sienna, raw umber, orange, yellow-orange
5 Blk 8” x 10” to 11” x 14” drawing pad
Back 1: 19.5”x25.5” sheet of Canson Mi-Tientes “Moonstone” pastel drawing paper (cut into 1/4’s)
5 Blk 1/4″ wide round watercolor brush or water brush pen
5 Blk 1/2” wide flat synthetic watercolor brush (optional)
3 BlkE student grade (or better) watercolor paint: black, yellow ocher, burnt sienna
5 Blk white ceramic pallet (or dish)
3 BlkE medium or soft hardness vine charcoal
3 Blk container to carry supplies (optional)
4 Blk drawing fixative (optional)
Back portfolio to store art (optional)
Window (top drawer) 1 sheet glassine paper to separate drawings in your portfolio
8c gray scale card
