Come work on your own project, while learning setup and techniques for power tools and hand tools! Students supply their own materials. Storage space for projects is available during the quarter.
Prerequisite: Woodworking 1 & 2—NO EXCEPTIONS, Instructor approval required

This class includes short tutorials and demonstrations, as well as open shop time to practice more advanced techniques on your personal project. Students should think of a challenging project with learning opportunities to improve their skills. Although the shop is made available to work on your project, the intent of this class is to teach and learn.
After successfully completing guided projects from Woodworking 1 and at least 2 qualifying Woodworking 2 classes (subject to instructor approval), you can use a personal project to become more proficient at machine setup and operation on your own. Additionally, this class will address routine care and maintenance of power tools and hand tools. Short tutorials on skills, techniques and safety will be given as opportunities present themselves. Come learn about power tools beyond the basics, as well as hand tool usage to improve the quality your work. If the class shows zero seats available, please put yourself on the waitlist so we can check you in as applicable.
